The initial concepts for this landmark project took into consideration two major factors. First, the limited area available to build the park in a congested urban environment and secondly, the prohibitive cost of renovating and upgrading stand alone pavilions every decade. The solution was to create a timeless architectural façade functioning as a gathering place for guests – the Venture Port. All attractions would be accessed through portals feeding into large industrial buildings which would never be seen from the outside by visitors. All exhibits would be developed under controlled indoor environments to maximize the use of special effects and technology to create the attractions of the future.
